Miguel takes fresh guard for Marriaqua

Following the December 7th, 2005, General Elections, persons speculated that Miguel, who is into her third term as parliamentary representative for the area, would throw in her towel this time around.

However, on Tuesday, April 7th, 2009, Miguel, paying site visits to several projects that are under construction in her constituency, dismissed these claims as rumours.

“I never told anyone that. I never told anyone. No! No! No! I’ve never said so to anyone. Those were only rumours, you

know, but I am still here on the ground doing what I can to help my constituency,” said Miguel.

Miguel said it is good to be a part of a Government that thinks of the poor.

Miguel contested the general elections in 1998, 2001 and in 2005 and was victorious on all three occasions.
