Noted journalist for opening of Printing plant

A leading regional journalist will be the feature speaker at the official opening of a newspaper printing facility here next week.{{more}}

Harold Hoyte, Editor Emeritus of the Nation Publishing Company of Barbados, will address the launch of SVG Publishers Inc at Campden Park Industrial Estate on Tuesday, May 20th.

The company, which is a joint venture of local and regional investors, began commercial printing here in August 2007, after three years of planning. At present, SVG Publishers prints SEARCHLIGHT newspaper, and the two other local newspapers on their 10-unit Goss Community web press.

The opening ceremony, which begins at 3:30 p.m., will also be addressed by Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves and officials of the company.
