Emmerson’s Hall in a mess
Barbadian Emmerson Hall found himself in a great deal of mess last Friday after he was hauled from the depths of a pit latrine in Fitz Hughes.{{more}}
Hall, following in the footsteps of his late nephew, the notorious criminal and escape artist Winston Hall, had been on the run from Barbadian police since 2005, in connection with drugs and firearm related offences.
When the 56-year-old Hall was hauled before the Kingstown Magistratesâ Court on Monday, his arrest was of a similar nature to his track record in Barbados. He pleaded guilty to having 67 grams of cannabis and was remanded to her Majestyâs Prison until January 3, 2008, for sentencing.
Reports state that about 4:40 pm, a party of Rapid Response Unit (RRU) and Narcotics personnel went to the defendantâs home in Fitz Hughes to execute a search warrant. While searching the house, a parcel containing the drugs was found.
A further search of the premises led the officer to the latrine where Hall was found hiding with faeces covering him up to his chest. He was shown the warrant and admitted that the drugs belonged to him.
In 1989, Winston Hall was captured here in St Vincent, for the second time, after escaping the Glendairy Prison in Barbados four years earlier.
In 2003, Hall was shot and killed by Barbadian police.
Emerson was living in Fitz Hughes with his common-law-wife.
