Nurse found hanged over Dauphine bank

Nurse found hanged over Dauphine bank

The registered nurse whose partly decomposed body was found hanging from a cliff at Dauphine wanted to return to her home at Greggs says her heartbroken relatives.

“I had already started to organize the house, bed and thing for her,” lamented Chris James, the cousin of Kemlon Johnson Quammie.

At press time police were investigating the circumstances surrounding Quammie’s death and her husband of three years, Dexter Quammie was assisting them in their investigations. Her body was discovered at around 2 p.m. last Tuesday, April 24.

Kemlon, 29, a mother of three, the youngest being Jade, 2, had a tumultuous relationship with her husband.

“She wanted to come back to Greggs to live because she felt safer here around the people she grew up with and her family,” said Chris.

As the family tried to come to terms with her death, Kemlon’s uncle George Johnson told SEARCHLIGHT that he would remember his niece as a fun-loving girl who loved the beach and making friends.

While saying that they did not know what happened to her, Kemlon’s relatives said that she did not deserve to die the way she did – for her body to be in such a state.

“She shouldn’t have died like that,” said Jennie Johnson, one of her cousins.

Kemlon who lived at Dauphine with her husband was reported missing by him last Monday, April 23. She was supposedly missing since April 17.

A postmortem done last Wednesday ruled that she died from strangulation.
