Resort’s first phase to open in November

The first phase of the Buccament Bay Resort is set to open its doors by November of 2007.

Investor David Man said that the first 120 units will be ready by November while the entire resort will be completed by the end of 2008. The Resort will contain some 450 rooms when completed.{{more}}

Minister of Tourism Glen Beache accompanied by Tourism officials paid a visit to the construction site on Monday.

Minister Beache said he is pleased with the progress made so far and praised the investors for doing so much in such a short time.

Beache also welcomed the employment opportunities the construction of the resort provides for the people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Some 280 workers are currently working on the site. This number is expected to increase to 400 by February. When the 24 acre resort is completed towards the end of 2008, some 520 Vincentians will be employed. (API)
