Nurse gives birth to first baby for 2007

She can’t even utter a single word yet much less take one footstep but already Janelle Pope’s daughter is a superstar in her own right.

SEARCHLIGHT’s camera was flashing from all angles she was pronounced the first born for 2007.

Baby Pope, who is yet to be named, was born a healthy eight pounds as dawn broke at 5.25 am Monday.{{more}}

Even though she had just given birth, Pope looked as radiant as the morning sunshine. The final-year registered nursing student said that she was very excited by the birth of her second child and that she was the first born for the new-year. She thanked God for carrying her through a smooth pregnancy.

As for plans for a third child, Pope said that this was her last child.

Coming in behind Baby Pope was Francenia Ragguette’s son who was born a healthy seven pounds.

Ragguette said that she was very happy to learn that her son, who was also to be named, was the second born for 2007. She said that her pregnancy went quite well and she thanked God for delivering her safely.

“This is my third and last child,” she told SEARCHLIGHT, “I have no intentions of going back through this.”
