Reports are that after a collision between the jeep driven by David, which is registered to Charleston Jackson of Calder and another jeep, PN 141, driven by Anthony Marks, David’s vehicle then hit Mayers who was pitched up into the air before dropping a short distance away. He died on the spot.

A crowd quickly gathered when word of the accident spread, bringing a halt to early morning traffic as people watched with horror, the reality of a young life snatched away so sadly, so painfully.

Anthony Marks, husband of Dr. Veronica Marks, director of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College, sustained slight injuries along with his daughter, 8-year-old St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Primary School student, Cherese. They were later taken to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital where they were treated and discharged.

Two other Community College students, Sheena Clouden and Felicia Mckee both of Union Island, were in the vehicle with their schoolmate David, reportedly on their way to school. They escaped without injury.

SEARCHLIGHT learnt that Keno was on his way to a nearby beach with his girlfriend Daniella Williams, 21, of Kingstown Park, along with Towana Mc Innis of the United States, a relative of Williams who had come to St. Vincent for an uncle’s funeral the day before. Mc Innis did not suffer any injuries and returned to the US at around 11 a.m. Tuesday after attempts to change her flight failed.

In a cruel twist of fate Keno walked away unscathed from an accident while driving a passenger van just about a week before he met his tragic end.
