Teen girl charged for selling Strong Rum without license

A 19-YEAR-OLD WOMAN has been charged with selling Sunset Strong Rum without a license.

Tiffany Richards, originally from Georgetown but living in Bequia did not, outwardly, appear to be worried when she appeared at the Kingstown Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, July 15.

There, the charge that she did, between July 1 and 14, at Paget Farm, Bequia, sell intoxicating liquor to wit Sunset Strong Rum without a license under the Liquor License Act, was read to her.

The teenage defendant told Senior Magistrate Rickie Burnett that she was not guilty of the offence.

Prosecutor Corlene Samuel did not object to bail for the defendant, and therefore bail was set at $1000, with one surety.

A friend signed as surety for her, and the defendant’s freedom was quickly secured.

The matter will be heard at the Bequia Magistrate’s Court, where it is listed for July 22.
