20-year-old charged with killing his grandfather

A 20-YEAR-old has been charged with killing his grandfather, and assaulting his relatives, causing them actual bodily harm.

Jareth Jamalo John was said to have displayed unusual behaviour when he came before the Serious Offences Court on Wednesday, March 18.

The young accused is facing three charges in total, including murder of 94-year=old Alston “Sonny” John of Collins Village, and the assaults of Ivy John and Insley John of Collins

village, causing them actual bodily harm.

Alston was found dead in the living room of his home on Sunday, March 15, and the cause of his death is said to be that he was beaten about his head.

The preliminary inquiry determining the evidence in the matter was adjourned for June 18.

In the meanwhile the accused remains incarcerated.
