Petit Bordel man charged with stabbing death of fellow villager

A 51 year old from Petit Bordel appeared in court yesterday charged with killing his fellow villager by stabbing him with a piece of broken bottle.

James Francois was brought before Senior Magistrate Rickie Burnett at the Kingstown Magistrate’s Court, charged that he, with malice aforethought, caused the death of Edward Lavia, a farmer of Petit Bordel.

Lavia, unemployed, is said to have succumbed to a wound to the left side of the neck on the afternoon of Friday, February 28.

Social media has been carrying images apparently of the aftermath of Friday’s incident, showing a man on the steps of a porch with a copious amount of bright red blood running down the stairs.
Francois will appear at the Serious Offences Court today, March 3, for a date concerning the preliminary inquiry into the matter.
