Man jailed for assaulting a 10-year-old

A New Grounds/ Glen man has been sentenced to three years imprisonment for indecently assaulting a 10-year-old girl.

Francis Jackson, who does not know his own age but seems to be above 45 years old, was also charged for having unlawful sexual intercourse with this child (a minor under the age of 13) between the dates, June 30 and August 2019.

While the charge of unlawful sexual intercourse was laid indictably at the Serious Offences Court(SOC) yesterday, Jackson was able to plea to the charge of indecent assault.

He admitted his guilt to this offence, and the Chief Magistrate Rechanne Browne is said to have imprisoned him for the act, although due to the nature of the matter, the media was not allowed inside the court room.

However, Jackson is said to have placed the child on a mat, and laid on top of her before rubbing his penis on her vagina.

It is expected that he is to receive more charges as it relates another child, who is only nine years old.
