Three prisoners charged with attempted murder of another inmate

Three prisoners have been charged with attempted murder.

On Tuesday, the three men, Dennis Richardson, Ian Gould and Jamalo Dunbar were jointly charged that on July 31, 2017, at Her Majesty’s Prisons, with the intent to commit murder on Raffique Chewitt of Calliaqua, they did an act which is merely preparatory to the commission of the offence.

They were also charged that on July 31, 2017, they agreed with each other that a course of conduct shall be pursued, which if the agreement were carried out in accordance with the intentions, will amount to an offence of murder by the parties to the agreement.

The three were not allowed to plead to the charges, as they were laid indictably.

The matter has been adjourned and transferred to the Serious Offences Court for hearing on September, 4.(JWC)
