Attempted Murder charge against male duo dismissed

Castian Stapleton-Lewis and Nikita Roberts no longer have the weight of an attempted murder charge on their shoulders.

Last Friday, their matters were discharged, after the Serious Offences Court learned that PC Hoyte, the investigating officer in the case, still had the case file in his possession.

Their charges included one of attempted murder and another of possession of a firearm with the intent to endanger the life or cause injury to Jomano Tash of Rockies on September 29, 2016.

The duo had been granted bail in the sum of $35,000.

On Tuesday, October 4, 2016, SEARCHLIGHT reported that three armed men, one wearing a mask and two without masks, were seen in the Rockies area sometime after 7 p.m.

A witness said that soon after the men were spotted, gunfire erupted from an unknown source and the three fled the scene, one discharging his firearm while fleeing. This is the second case to be withdrawn in one month at the Serious Offences Court under similar circumstances.
