‘Crab’ murder PI commences
Nine persons, including a crucial eyewitness, testified on Tuesday at the Serious Offences Court, as a preliminary inquiry (PI) into the December 12, 2015 murder of Josmond âCrabâ Charles/Huskinson began.
Rose Place resident Ava Charles, 36, was charged with Huskinsonâs murder on December 15, 2015 and was remanded to Her Majestyâs Prison after police questioned her and a young woman.
The young woman was later released, while Charles remained to face the charge.
Huskinson died at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital (MCMH) on Monday, December 12, after being stabbed at Rose Place between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m.
It is believed that the former Kingstown Anglican School teacher, who had no children, was stabbed in his chest in a dilapidated house he called home.
He was rushed to the MCMH by two of his friends, after they found him unconscious at the bottom of the stairs.
His death was recorded as the 35th violent death for 2016.
Among the nine persons were friends of the deceased and one young lady who claimed to have witnessed the entire ordeal.
Charles is expected to reappear before the court on Thursday, May 25, when two additional persons are expected to testify in the hearing that will determine whether or not she will stand trial at the High Court. (AS)
