Tattoo artist charged with attempted murder
A local tattoo artist has been remanded in custody, after he was charged with shooting a resident of Rose Place last week.
When Joseph âSouthâ Bailey appeared before Chief Magistrate Rechanne Browne-Matthias on Tuesday, he was not allowed to plead to the charge of attempted murder of Patrick Nero on April 9, 2017.
On Tuesday, when the question of bail arose, senior prosecutor Adolphus Delpesche objected, informing the court that Nero is still warded at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital with a bullet in the left side of his chest.
Delpesche asked that Bailey be remanded into custody, as Nero is in a stable, but serious condition.
âWe hope and pray it doesnât get worse,â he added.
The Chief Magistrate denied Baileyâs bail and ordered that the popular tattoo artist be remanded in custody for seven days. During that time a report of Neroâs condition should be presented to the court. Bailey will return to court on April 24, when bail would be considered. (AS)
