Arnos Vale resident found with illegal firearm, ammunition

An Arnos Vale resident was last Friday remanded in police custody, after he was allegedly found with an illegal firearm and ammunition.

Carlos Lewis, 32, pleaded not guilty to the charge that on January 25, at Arnos Vale, he had in his possession one 9mm lugar semi-automatic pistol, serial number unknown, without a licence issued under the Firearms Act.

He also pleaded not guilty to having 12 rounds of 9mm ammunition.

Both items were found as a result of a search warrant executed at Lewis’ home by Station Sergeant Nolan Dallaway around 5:50 a.m. last Wednesday.

Lewis is expected reappear before the Serious Offences Court on February 10 for trial. (AS)
