Last Wednesday, December 28, 2016, when Lavern Prince appeared before the Kingstown Magistrate’s Court, she pleaded guilty to unlawfully and maliciously wounding her son, Kish Prince of Lowmans Bay.

However, on Tuesday, Prince changed her plea to not guilty, after the Crown informed the court that they have received Kish Prince’s medical report and therefore would not be objecting to his mother’s bail.

She was then granted bail in the sum of EC$2,000, with one surety, which was signed by her daughter that same day.

Last Wednesday, prosecutor Elgin Richards recommended that Prince be remanded in police custody for one week, as her son was still nursing a stab wound at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital.

Reports are that Prince stabbed her son in the chest after the two began arguing on the morning of Tuesday, December 27.

The Lowmans woman, who hid her face from the media after both court appearances, will once again appear in court on Tuesday, February 7, 2017. (AS)
