Fitz-Hughes man granted $5,500 bail

A Fitz-hughes man was yesterday offered bail in the sum of $5,500, after he was charged with both assault and wounding.

When Uroy Edwards appeared before the Serious Offences Court, he was charged with wounding Samuel James{{more}} of Fitz-Hughes and assaulting Zipporah John of Fitz-Hughes.

He was not allowed to plead to the wounding matter. Instead a Preliminary Inquiry was set for March 29, 2017. For this matter, bail was offered in the sum of $4,000.

Edwards, however, pleaded not guilty to the assault charge. This matter will be heard at the Chateaubelair Magistrate’s Court on January 12, 2017. Bail was offered in the sum of $1,500. (AS)
