Following the conclusion of a Preliminary Inquiry on Tuesday, Chief Magistrate Rechanne Browne-Matthias ruled that there was enough evidence to proceed in a case involving Grafton McDowall.

McDowall is charged for aggravated burglary and attempting to kill Lerna Daniel of Rillan Hill on January 14, 2016.

It is alleged that around 1 o’clock that morning, Daniel, a farmer, awoke to a man standing over her and stabbing her repeatedly over her body.

She survived the attack and was able to recall the incident while giving evidence during the preliminary inquiry, which began on June 27.

Carlos Skerritt and his girlfriend Charmaine Andrews gave evidence during the preliminary inquiry. (AS)
