At their last court appearance on June 7, Ulrick Hanson, Jordan Forde and Joe Lewis were remanded in custody by chief magistrate Rechanne Browne-Matthias who said that she would consider their bail after seven days.{{more}}

The residents of Mayreau are facing charges of crimes allegedly committed against Christopher Mennem and his wife Sandra, visitors from the United Kingdom.

Lewis was charged with maliciously and unlawfully wounding Christopher Mennem; Patterson was charged with assaulting Sandra Mennem; and Forde was charged with robbing Christopher Mennem of EC$500 while armed with a gun.

The incident took place on May 25 on board the couple’s yacht in the Tobago Cays.

When the men returned to the Serious Offenses Court on Tuesday, Browne Matthias granted them bail in the sum of $20,000 each.

The conditions of their bail require them to surrender all travel documents. They will also need the permission of the court, or a court of a higher jurisdiction to leave the state.

Hanson and Lewis, who said that they are now residing on St Vincent are required to report to the Central Police Station and the Calliaqua Police Station respectively on Mondays and Thursdays between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm.

Forde’s reporting condition requires him to report to the Union Island Police Station on Mondays and Thursdays between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm.

A curfew between 8:00 pm and 6:00 am was also placed on the three men.

The matter has been adjourned to September 13, 2016.(CA)
