Two more persons nabbed with cannabis at Grenadines wharf

Despite warnings and the publication in SEARCHLIGHT of the number of persons caught trying to smuggle illegal drugs through the Grenadines wharf, people continue to try to circumvent the security measures.{{more}}

The latest persons to be caught with drugs at the wharf in Kingstown are Denika France and Reynold John.

France, 29 years old, unemployed, of Diamond, was on Saturday, February 20, caught at the wharf with 600 grammes of cannabis. She was charged with intent to supply, while on that same day, John, a 45-year-old, farmer of Chateaubelair was nabbed with 799 grammes of cannabis. He was also charged with intent to supply.

Last January, it was reported that between March 2nd, 2015 and January 19th, 2016, random searches on persons going to the Grenadine Islands netted approximately 77 pounds of marijuana, 26 grams of cocaine and three rounds of ammunition.
