The Inquest, which commenced at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, is being presided over by coroner Rickie Burnett, before a five-member jury.

On June 4, 2014, Lett, a resident of Byera, was shot by a police officer, after it is alleged that he had been creating a disturbance by throwing stones on a neighbour’s roof.

It is further alleged that when police arrived on the scene, at about 6 a.m., Lett, who was in his early thirties, was holding a cutlass in his hand and is said to have pelted stones in the direction of the police, striking an officer in the back.

The matter will resume next week Tuesday and Wednesday.
