Fitz-Hughes man charged with possession of cocaine

Fitz Hughes resident, Anthony ‘Ipa’ Edwards has been granted $500,000 bail, with two sureties after he pleaded not guilty to possession of 32,795 grammes of cocaine (29 kilos).{{more}}

The 42-year-old farmer appeared at the Serious Offences Court on Wednesday, January 14, where he was also charged with drug trafficking.

He pleaded not guilty to both offences.

Edwards is said to have been nabbed by police at Wallilabou, at about 6:20 p.m., on January 12.

As part of his bail conditions, Edwards was ordered to surrender his travel documents and report to the Chateaubelair police station on Mondays and Fridays.

Stop notices have also been placed at every port of entry and exit.

The matter was adjourned to April 24, 2015 for hearing.
