After less than two hours of deliberation on Monday, the mixed jury found the man not guilty on two counts of having sex with a girl under the age of 13.

The girl, now 13, had alleged that the man had sex with her on two occasions in 2012.

A total of four witnesses testified for the Crown, in a case which was being led by Crown counsel Sejilla McDowall.

The defence was led by Ronnie Marks, who was assisted by Andrew Russell.

Tammika McKenzie appeared with McDowall for the Crown.
