The Lowmans Leeward residents appeared at the Kingstown Magistrate’s Court yesterday, charged in connection with the murder of Kyle Phillips of Lowmans Leeward, on May 6, 2014.

Both men were remanded in custody and will have their Preliminary Inquiry heard on July 30, at the Serious Offences Court.

Henry is being represented by Olin Dennie and Andreas Coombs, while Roberts is represented by Arthur Williams.

At about 9 p.m., at Spring Village, Lowmans, Phillips sustained gunshot wounds to his stomach and left hand, allegedly by two gunmen, as he was about to enter his yard on May 6.

After being shot, the deceased was able to run to the home of friends close by, seeking assitance. Phillips was taken to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Phillips’ death brings to 12, the number of recorded homicides for 2014 — the ninth by gunshot.

Both men turned themselves into the police on May 8, less than 24 hours after police issued “wanted” posters of them.

On November 4, 2009, the accused walked free from the High Court after a 12-member jury unanimously found them not guilty for the murders of Reuben Small, 22, of Lowmans, Javon “John Wayne” Antoine, 20, Layou, and Ralson Omoro Bowens, 21, on August 9, 2007, about 3 p.m.

A third man has since been convicted for those crimes and is currently serving his sentence.(KW)
