Calder resident charged with shooting of ‘Third World’

Six weeks after Nigel “Third World” Regisford was shot in the leg, Wynard Mapp, a resident of Calder, has been arrested and charged in connection with the crime.{{more}}

Mapp appeared at the Kingstown Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday and was not allowed to plead to the four charges slapped against him.

He was charged with attempted murder, unlawful use of a firearm, wounding, and unlawful discharge of a firearm.

Magistrate Rechanne Browne-Matthias placed Mapp on $30,000 bail. He was ordered to report to the Central Police Station on Mondays and Fridays.

Mapp was also made to surrender his travel documents and have no contact with Regisford.

The matter was adjourned to July 30 and transferred to the Serious Offences Court for hearing.

Regisford, 44, a farmer of Biabou was shot in his leg at about 8:30 a.m., on March 23, at Calder.(KW)
