Spring appeared at the Kingstown Magistrate’s Court on Monday and pleaded guilty to assaulting Desroy Baptiste, at Stoney Ground.

For punching Baptiste, magistrate Rechanne Browne-Matthias placed Spring on a six-month bond in the sum of $1,500. In breach of the bond, Spring will have to come up with $1,500 forthwith or spend six months in jail.

Information read in court stated that at about 10:30 p.m. on July 8, 2013, Baptiste was walking in the vicinity of the Nurses Hostel. Spring was walking about five feet ahead of Baptiste.

The court heard that Baptiste told Spring that if he had the fish, he would use them with macaroni.

Spring then turned back and punched Baptiste in his mouth.

Spring was also ordered to pay Baptiste compensation of $300 by May 8 or go to prison for three weeks.(KW)
