The Clare Valley resident pleaded guilty yesterday at the Kingstown Magistrate’s Court to stealing a Blackberry Curve smartphone on May 30, 2013.

The facts read out in court stated that the owner of the phone, Sheba Charles, attended the same evening classes as Theobalds.

The court heard that one evening, while at class, the owner left the room and on returning, she discovered that the phone was missing.

Police investigations later found the phone in the possession of another female, who gave them information which led to Theobalds’ arrest.

Magistrate Rechanne Browne-Matthias said Theobalds has other convictions of a similar nature and did not show any remorse for stealing the phone.(KW)
