Man claims he was hit by ghost

Rose Place resident, Jasman “Crab” Charles claims he received several lashes to his head from an unknown source, earlier this week, at the Kingstown Magistrate’s Court.{{more}}

He said he was hit while being escorted from the court by the police. He had appeared in court to answer criminal charges.

However, Charles said it was not the police who struck him, but some unseen being.

As he exited the courthouse on Tuesday, Charles said, “I been coming from the washroom side and ah jumbie slap me. I now been dey. No police or nothing been hit me; is one hard clout I get,” Charles said.

As he sat in the back of the police vehicle, Charles continued with a serious look on his face.

“Alyo need to do something about in dey. Ah jumbie in dey, Way de (expletive) all yo doing about this?” Charles asked of police officers, as bystanders outside the courthouse erupted into laughter.

On August 30, a local newspaper carried a frontpage story headlined “Jumbie in Magistrate Court!” According to the story, workers at the court claimed to have made unusual oberservations, and speculated that what they observed was because of the ghost of Anthony “Scarface” Hamilton, who was shot and killed in the washroom of the Magistrate’s Court on May 15, 2013.
