Lucian man sentenced to two years for gun, ammo possession

A St Lucian man has been sentenced to two years in jail on gun and ammunition charges.{{more}}

Melvin George appeared at the Serious Offences Court on Tuesday and was sentenced by Chief Magistrate Sonya Young.

George pleaded guilty to possession of a Smith and Wesson firearm and four rounds of .38 ammunition.

He was sentenced to two years in jail for the firearm, and a further six months for the ammunition.

The sentences are to run concurrently.

The court heard that a search was carried out at the house where George was staying when the firearm and ammunition were found.(KW)
