Bajan men get nine years for drug offences

Four Barbadian men were on Friday, June 28, sentenced to nine years imprisonment on drug related charges.{{more}}

High Court Judge Frederick Bruce-Lyle imposed the sentence on Joel Erad Payne, 50, Shawn Boucher, 36, Ryan Corbin, 35, and Devon Hurdle, 38, at the Criminal Assizes.

The men were each sentenced to nine years for drug trafficking and conspiracy to trafficking drugs. They were also sentenced to eight years each for possession and attempted export of a controlled drug.

They all pleaded guilty halfway through the trial.

The sentences will run concurrently.

The four were charged with possession of 1,706 pounds of cannabis, with intent to supply it to another and intent to export 1,706 pounds of cannabis on July 13, 2012, at Fancy Point.
