Ivan James Samuel, 38, a labourer, is alleged to have stabbed Sherlene Hackshaw of Belair, twice in her neck with an ice pick, at Bedford Street on March 30, 2013.

Samuel appeared at the Serious Offences Court and was remanded in custody by Chief Magistrate Sonya Young.

Objecting to his bail, Prosecutor Adolphus Delpesche said the victim is in serious, but stable condition, at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital.

Delpesche also said that Hackshaw is fearful for her life.

Magistrate Young agreed with Delpesche’s objections and remanded him for two weeks, pending a medical report.

His bail application will be reviewed on April 16.(KW)
