Senior Magistrate’s contract not renewed

A new magistrate will have to be appointed to preside at the Kingstown Magistrate’s Court, as outspoken Senior Magistrate Donald Browne spent his last day on the job on January 16.{{more}}

After exiting the court on Wednesday, shortly after midday, Browne requested a hug from one of the court’s employees.

Browne, who said he preferred not to speak on the matter at this time, told SEARCHLIGHT that his two-year contract, which ended on January 16, was not renewed.

Before driving away, with a smile, he told this reporter that “this is not the last time you will be hearing me.”(KW)
