Chief Magistrate Sonya Young has upheld a no case submission brought forward by Counsel Andreas Coombs in the case of the death of a former member of the Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force Joel Hull.{{more}}

Young made the ruling on Wednesday, September 5, at the Serious Offences Court in Kingstown.

The case brought against Stanrod Henry, the driver of the vehicle which allegedly struck the officer, was subsequently dropped.

According to the defence lawyer Coombs, who represented Henry, a no case submission was made, after it was realized that there was not enough evidence to suggest that Hull was struck by the vehicle, which was being driven by Henry at the time.

The incident occurred on July 27, 2011 on Bay Street, in the area between P.H. Veira and Bedford Street. (DD)
