Miller charged with the death of Darnley Phillips

A 30-year-old unemployed man of Layou has been charged with causing the death of 65-year-old Caregiver, Darnley Anita Phillips on June 21 at Layou.{{more}}

Yatango Miller was granted $20,000 bail when he appeared at the Serious Offences Court on Wednesday, slapped with four charges.

He was charged with driving motorcycle PL 661 without being the holder of a driver’s permit; he was also charged with driving the motorcycle without insurance; driving the said vehicle without the relevant license for the said motor vehicle for the period of January 1, 2012 to June 30, 2012 and being the driver of PL 661, did cause the death of Phillips by driving the vehicle recklessly, at Layou.

As part of his bail conditions, Miller was ordered to surrender all his travel documents and report to the Layou police station on Mondays and Fridays.

The matter is adjourned to November 5, 2012.
