He appeared at the Serious Offences Court yesterday and was charged with robbing Tyrone Jordan of Campden Park of a Samsung cellular phone and a Blackberry smart phone on February 24.

Prosecutor Adolphus Delpesche objected to Durham’s bail on the grounds that police are still searching for a firearm alleged to have been used in the incident.

Delpesche told the court that there is also a second suspect in the matter who is yet to be apprehended by the police. He also said that the investigator has pointed out to him that their chances of retrieving the alleged weapon are good.

“If given bail, we believe that he will obstruct investigations…,” Delpesche submitted.

Durham was remanded for one week until a report on the matter, which is expected on March 5, is received.

Preliminary Inquiry is set for July 12.(KW)
