For his actions, Senior Magistrate Donald Browne placed the Kelbourney resident on a six-month suspended prison sentence.

McFee appeared at the Kingstown Magistrate’s Court yesterday and pleaded guilty to the charge of theft.

Information reaching the court stated the security guard at the supermarket saw when McFee went to the shelf, took up the tins of Baygon and placed them under his shirt.

Prosecutor Inspector Glenford Gregg told the court that McFee told him that when he steals food, people laugh at him.

“How you go tell the magistrate that? Ah say, if ah did tek something fo eat, people wudda laugh after me…,” McFee said in reply.(KW)
