Garraway to stand trial for murder at the High Court

Chief Magistrate Sonya Young has committed murder accussed Susan Garraway to stand trial at the High Court.{{more}}

Garraway, of Fairbaine Pasture, will appear before a judge and jury to answer the charge of murder of her six-year-old daughter Zoya Garraway.

The prosecution called a total of six witnesses to the stand to give testimony. Some of the witnesses included the child’s father Kwasi Garraway, Assistant Superintendent of Police and Forensic psychologist Kamecia Blake and Psychiatrist Dr Amrie Patterson.

Representing Garraway, Lawyer Ronald Marks made a no-case submission to the court; this was overruled by Chief Magistrate Young.

Zoya died as a result of a slash to the throat.

The tragedy occurred around 7:00 a.m on March 31, 2011.
