Chief Magistrate Sonya Young found Graham Hinds not guilty and discharged him of a charge of entering the state by boat without permission.

Hinds, 49, a personal trainer of Liverpool, went to the Port Elizabeth Police Station in Bequia and spoke with a police officer there. He informed the police officer that he had overstayed his time and wanted to know how to go about extending his stay.

Hinds said he came to the country on September 25 and was granted a month to stay in the country.

A puzzled Chief Magistrate Young said the charge laid against him was not the correct one.
