Chief Magistrate Sonya Young made the decision after the prosecution indicated that they were not ready to proceed with the matter.

Prosecutor Inspector Adolphus Delpesche informed the court that the files were still at the Director of Public Prosecution’s office and he did not get a chance to peruse the documents.

Durrant, who was at the time of her arrest an office attendant at KElectric Co. Ltd, had been released on $20,000 bail after she was alleged to have stolen cheques to the tune of $120,000.

She first appeared at the Calliaqua Magistrate’s Court on Friday, August 13, 2010, and pleaded not guilty to making false instruments and tendering cheques of $7,000 and $8,000 on two different occasions at Scotia Bank on August 6, 2010.(KW)
