Georgetown men charged for Ganja

Two Georgetown men will appear at the Serious Offences Court tomorrow, Wednesday March 2, for sentencing on a drug charge.{{more}}

Abasia Humphrey and Gordon Williams both pleaded guilty to possession of 21,992 grams of cannabis when they appeared before Senior Magistrate Donald Browne on Monday, February 28, at the Kingstown Magistrates Court.

Police say that both men were encountered in the Locust Mountains in Georgetown, on February 27.

Humphrey was also slapped with another charge. He pleaded not guilty to having a .22 semi-automatic pistol and five rounds of .22 ammunition on February 26, at the Locust Mountain.

Magistrate Browne said he was not considering bail and transferred both matters to the Serious Offences Court for sentencing and trial date.

Both men were remanded in custody.
