No decision in Police case

Three police officers will have to wait a bit longer to learn their fate in their matter before the the Eastern Caribbean Court of Appeal.{{more}}

Police officers: Hadley Ballantyne, Kasanki Quow and Osrick James were convicted on February 2, 2010, at the Kingstown Magistrate’s Court with assaulting Jemark Jackson on November 18, 2008, in the general office of the Criminal Investigations Department(CID), at police headquarters in Kingstown.

Since then, the matter has been before the Court of Appeal, pending a decision.

Lawyer for Jackson, Jomo Thomas, told SEARCHLIGHT on Wednesday that he spoke with the Director of Public Prosecutions and was informed that a decision would not be rendered at this sitting of the Court of Appeal, which came to a close this week.

The officers are currently on suspension with half pay, pending the outcome of their appeal.(KW)
