Job well done, says T&T acting COP

Acting Police Commissioner of Trinidad and Tobago, James Philbert, is showering high praises on the Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force for a job well done over the Carnival weekend.{{more}}

In a telephone interview with SEARCHLIGHT, Philbert, who spent last weekend here, said that Vincy Mas 2010 was well managed by the police.

“I am very impressed at what I saw and I think that the Commissioner (Keith Miller) and his men should be commended,” Philbert said.

Apart from the strong police presence during the J’Ouvert, Monday afternoon street party, and the Mas parade on Tuesday, Philbert noted that he was particularly impressed with the seriousness of the “No glass bottle policy”.

“We have the no glass bottle policy in Trinidad, but the way I see it is being enforced here, I was really impressed,” Philbert said.

Philbert was so impressed that he has vowed to take more stringent measures with their no bottle policy for next year’s Trinidad Carnival.

Philbert added that St Vincent is an absolutely beautiful island and commented that he wholly enjoyed the beaches, music and the zeal of the local constabulary.
