Nichols was committed to stand trial at the High Court at the end of a Preliminary Inquiry held at the Serious Offences Court on Monday, March 1, 2010.

It is alleged that on August 14, 2009, Nichols and Pierre were involved in an argument which resulted in Pierre being chopped a few times in his head with a cutlass.

Pierre received a wound to his jaw, which exposed the bottom row of his teeth, and was chopped in the middle of his head, which resulting in his skull being cracked. He also lost his left eye as a result of the attack.

Eight witnesses including doctors who attended to Pierre and the investigating officer in the case testified in court on Monday. (OS)
