Wilson pleads not guilty to shooting

A young man of Sion Hill is currently in custody charged with shooting another for an mp3 player.{{more}}

Brenan Wilson, 25, of Walvaroo, appeared at the Kingstown Magistrates Court on Wednesday, October 7, 2009. He pleaded not guilty to unlawfully and maliciously wounding Kenton Phillips, 24, also of Walvaroo.

Prosecutor Sergeant Glenford Gregg objected to bail stating that police have not retrieved the firearm believed to be used by Wilson to wound Phillips.

According to police reports, Wilson and Phillips had an altercation over an mp3 player which Phillips lent to Wilson. Phillips was shot in his back once. The incident occurred on Sunday, October 4, 2009.

Wilson was placed on remand and will return to court today, Friday, October 16, 2009.

Kenton Phillips was still hospitalized up to press time.(OS)
