Edwards pleaded guilty to all the charges when he appeared at the Kingstown Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 26 May, 2009. He was sentenced on June 2, 2009, at the Serious Offences Court.

Edwards was jointly charged with four others, Patrick Edwards, Nicolette Edwards, Marsha Edwards and Florian Edwards, all of Greggs. They, however, pleaded not guilty and the charges against them were withdrawn.

Police found the pistol, ammunition and cannabis while executing a search on the Edwards’ home at Greggs. He was sentenced to eighteen months in jail for the possession of the pistol, three months for the possession of the ammunition and one month for the possession of the cannabis. The sentences will run concurrently. He was represented by lawyer Jomo Thomas.
