Edinboro resident Harris Grant was granted bail in the sum of $11,000 after pleading not guilty to possession of one .25 pistol and four rounds of .25 ammunition on April 17 at Rose Place.##M[more]##

Grant appeared at the Serious Offences Court on Monday before Chief Magistrate Sonya Young to answer to both charges.

Before Harris was granted bail, Prosecutor Inspector Wynford Ellis had objected to Grant’s bail on the grounds that they were serious offences involving a firearm. The Prosecutor told the court that Harris had to be chased by the police to retrieve the gun. It was also heard that a bullet had already been lodged in the chamber of the firearm.

Harris was ordered to report to the Central Police Station on weekdays between 6am and 6pm. The matter was adjourned to June 30 for hearing.
