Trinidadian trio charged with marijuana possession
Three Trinidadian nationals will re-appear at the Serious Offences Court on Monday, April 6, 2009, on marijuana charges.{{more}}
The trio: Tyrone Carter, 46, Terrance Francois, 23, and Aaron Griffith, 19, all of OâMeara Road, Trinidad, appeared before Chief Magistrate Sonya Young on Tuesday this week on charges of possession of 36,093 grams (79.5 pounds) of marijuana at Morne Ronde Point on the Leeward coast on March 30, 2009.
Francois pleaded guilty to the charge and was remanded to Her Majestyâs Prison until April 6 for sentencing. Carter and Griffith pleaded not guilty.
Prosecutor, Inspector Nigel Butcher, indicated to the court that he was not withdrawing the matter against the other two accused, despite their not guilty pleas. They were also remanded and are expected to re-appear in court on April 6.
