Cain charged with Lewis’ murder

The man who is accused of beheading Aswald “Country” Lewis is now on remand at Her Majesty’s Prison after having been charged with murder.{{more}}

With a carefree demeanor, Osborne Cain posed to have his picture taken as police officers led him to the Kingstown Magistrate’s Court on Friday, March 27.

Cain, 46, of South Rivers, appeared before Senior Magistrate Donald Browne, who set the date for the Preliminary Inquiry to June 4, 2009. The matter was also transferred to the Serious Offences Court.

Cain was not represented by Counsel.

Aswald Lewis’ headless body was discovered in a banana field at Dubois at about 3: 30 p.m. on March 24, 2009.(KW)
