The warning came from Chief Magistrate Sonya Young.

Nelson, a resident of Kingstown, was found on Sunday, March 1st, 2009, in the Paul’s Lot area, with 121 grams of cannabis. He was charged with having in his possession the controlled drug with intent to supply to others.

While handing down the penalty, Chief Magistrate Sonya Young cautioned Nelson not to sell drugs to school children. “If you are selling weed, I advise you to stop. But if you can’t, I beg you don’t sell it to the school children,” she said. Young also urged Nelson to refuse children who may come to him for drugs.

Nelson, who pleaded guilty to the offence, was fined $200 to be paid immediately or one-month imprisonment. (OS)
